Painting with Light
The message of this image is that even in the darkness there is light. I had Hayley flash herself with a remote flash that had an orange gel on it. My mom then took a flashlight and drew a heartbeat behind her head. I didn't do anything other than fixing the colors a bit.

Flash Portraits
I photographed Steven on a wall at my house. I converted it to black and white to make the focus on him and not the color on his shirt. I also put a vignette to tighten the focus. I wanted to show his strength.

Environmental Portraits
I brought down the saturation of the background to put more focus on Maddie. I wanted to photographer her in San Francisco dressed in her ballerina outfit because ballet is a big part of her life and she also loves the city.
